Developmental Child Care PDF Print E-mail

Child Development, Inc. participates in the Child Care Voucher Program, through the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services. This program is designed to provide child care for parents who are working, attending school or enrolled in a training program.

Eligibility is determined by the Department of Human Services Child Care Eligibility Specialist assigned to each county. A personal interview is required before approval. The percentage of the fee that parents are required to pay is determined on a sliding scale, based on income and family size. Parents select the child care center their children will attend.

CDI also allows parents whose income exceeds Head Start requirements to pay for child care services. These children do not receive Head Start services, but are sometimes placed in the same classroom with children in Head Start and receive similar education and nutritional services. The chart shows the number of children served through Developmental Child Care in CDI’s 13-county service area. The program is offered in a limited number of centers.
